On Saturday 20th February, 126 registered riders and drivers plus one registered pillion set on our 2016 AL’s RIDE.  With further pillion riders and passengers in cars totalling 169.

All the rides were enjoyed with no majors problems experienced and minor distractions/delays limited to my flat tyre on the Bundanoon to Bathurst Ride together with some minor misdirection leading to a jaunt along a dirt road.  Regardless, everyone arrived in Bathurst safe, well and in good spirits.  A big thanks for the assistance provided with lunch enroute by The Clubhouse Hotel at Rockley, The Rylstone Hotel at Rylstone and The Tourist Hotel in Oberon.   Great meals at each location so if you’re travelling in the area don’t forget to support and enjoy these establishments.

Local Bathurst Police and Highway Patrol then assisted our rider, drivers and Bathurst locals by assisting our group to ride as one unit along Havannah Street to Mount Panorama where everyone had the chance to experience this landscape and be part of the AL’s RIDE 2016 group photo.

We had hoped to have a final figure for the monies raised by now but unfortunately a few of the accounts have been slow to arrive, a number of other events have taken up time and some shortage of personal available to process all these accounts and pieces of information have conspired to delay our final figures being established and these funds progressing to our charities.

We must make special mention to Brett MORGAN who organised the donation of the bike lift by Levanta Superior Workshop Solutions.  This top quality equipment raised a further $1625-00 for our cause.

Travel safe, Keith

Do we have a challenge for you!  AL’s RIDE leader will have stickers for sale at the start point of each ride.  These stickers will feature a target and can be purchased for $5 each then affixed to your motorcycle, helmet or car but not on any visor, wiper area of a windscreen or location where they may impinge vision or cause a hazard.  Monies collected for each ride will be divided with half going to our charities and the other half collected by whoever has a bug splattered closest the crosshairs of the when we arrive in Bathurst.  In the event of a tie, winners will be judged on colour, texture and entrails pattern.

These stickers are good quality and will not harm paintwork, plastic or glass of your vehicle.  One or two basic rules exist, being:-  One stick thats it.  Cannot be re-positioned;  Instant disqualification for riding or driving off any road in an attempt to locate a bug;  Instant disqualification for use of any material to attract prospective bugs (No bullshit on AL’s RIDE)

Hello fellow AL’s RIDE people, I have spoken with Chef  Chris, from the Panorama Hotel/Motel.  You will notice that we have updated our roast dinner to have a choice of beef and/or lamb for the meal together with baked pumpkin, potato bake, salads and condiments to make a substantial meal.  Finish the ride, relax, chat and get cleaned up, have your meal then be in the best seats for the formal part of the evening and the entertainment.

We need to work in with the Panorama by ordering our meals by the Monday before AL’s RIDE (15th Feb, 2016) so that sufficient ingredients, staffing and time can be ordered, rostered and and allocated towards making our evening enjoyable.  Panorama meals are highly recommended.
